    Heerimus
I greet you on behalf of the great and noble Senator Doli-bur Barc. I have the honor of being his senior page.
The Senator sent me as his representative, though he'd prefer to be here himself. He loves to walk among his people
    Voidhound
If your Senator wanted to be here, he'd be here.
    Heerimus
Oh, he does. He stopped here on his way to the spaceport last year. He even waved at some of his admirers.
Today, the Senator sent me to find brave and loyal citizens to help with a security crisis. It involves his work to restore the Republic to glory by re-establishing our technological superiority.
    Hero of Tython
We should strive for balance, not domination.
    Heerimus
Exactly, and Senator Barc's bold vision is to see the balance returned.
    Meteor
That's all very nice, but what's the crisis?
    Heerimus
I was just getting to that.
Recently, the Senator arranged to acquire a shipment of computer chips - advanced hardware that could create whole new industries for the Republic.
Unfortunately, the shipment was hijacked by the Migrant Merchants' Guild. Now, Republic security is afraid to take on the guild's thugs.
    Voidhound
    You're looking for outside help?
    Heerimus
Exactly. The Senator says this issue is really over security's head anyways.
Recovering the shipment of chips from the guild would be a great service to Senator Barc and the Republic.
    Voidhound
Is Senator Barc paying for this?
    Heerimus
Yes, of course, your fee. In his generosity, the Senator has promised to personally reward anyone who helps.
To find out where the guild has hidden the Senator's shipment, you'll have to speak with Security Captain Denal-zon - he ran the investigation. Then return the shipment to Senator Barc's office in the Senate tower. I'm sure he'll want to thank you personally.

    Denal-Zon
In accordance with Security Force Regulation 11-95, conversations with non-security personnel are to be kept to a minimum. Let's make this quick.
I'm Captain Denal-zon. Senator Barc's page "ordered" me to give you information regarding the Senator's stolen goods.
    Meteor
Where can we find the shipment?
    Denal-Zon
Look, I don't work for him. If you want that information, we're gonna have to come to an understanding.
We'll see. Under Security Appropriations Policy B-71, I am allowed to share classified information - if you're working for us.
Did the Senator's crony tell you where the shipment came from, or what these computer chips are for?
    Barsen'thor
Now that you mention it, he didn't explain anything about the chips.
    Denal-Zon
I'm not surprised. These political types like to gloss over details. The chips are from the planet Ryloth. They're designed to operate remote control slave collars.
Under Republic Law 44-12, Rylothian slave collars and the chips used to make them are illegal in Republic space - even for Senators.
    Meteor
Why would a Senator need chips for slave collars?
    Denal-Zon
To be honest, I don't know - but it really doesn't change anything. The law is the law.
    Voidhound
Barc must be aware of the laws.
    Denal-Zon
Sure. He just doesn't think they apply to him. The fact is, possession of those chips is against the law.
Our immediate problem is that these slave collar chips are spread around the Migrant Merchants' Guild headquarters.
First priority is get the shipment together again. After that, bring the chips back to me and I'll make sure they're destroyed.
    Hero of Tython
That sounds like the right thing to do.
    Denal-Zon
It's the only thing to do.
    Meteor
Do you intend to prosecute Senator Barc for this?
    Denal-Zon
Not up to me. My superiors will decide how to proceed with the case.
    Voidhound
    Are you offering a reward?
    Denal-Zon
I can offer you the standard rate. The Senator's probably offering more, but it'll be dirty money.
Find the chips and get out of the guild warehouse. Once you've got everything, I suggest you let us deal with the shipment - not the Senator.

    Denal-Zon
Look what the wampa dragged in. I was beginning to wonder if I'd see you again. Did you get the shipment of slave collar chips?
    Barsen'thor
They're all yours. Take these chips and destroy them, Captain.
    Denal-Zon
Oh, I will. Senator Barc'll be disappointed, but the law is the law... even for Senators. I know he probably offered more, but I can at least give you the standard rate for your work.
I'd like to give more, but Security Personnel Regulation A-76 only authorizes so much for an operation like this one.
    Meteor
We're just glad we found them before Senator Barc did.
    Denal-Zon
I'm with you on that. To be honest, I can't think of a more detestable technology.
I've got a lot of datawork to do now. We don't want the Senator finding any fault with the way this was handled--but you've got my thanks.

Captain Denal-Zon to Republic operatives

This event took place on the planet Coruscant during the Cold War. When the operatives arrived at the taxi station in the Old Galactic Market sector, they were approached by a man who identified himself as Heerimus, a senior page to Senator Doli-bur Barc of the Galactic Republic Senate. He praised the senator as being wise and generous, who wanted to restore Republic's technical superiority - and for that he arranged to acquire a shipment of computer chips, advanced hardware that could create whole new industries for the Republic. The operatives, although skeptical of the senator's motives, continued to listen. Heerimus continued that, unfortunately, the shipment was hijacked by the Migrant Merchants' Guild. The senator tasked Coruscant Security to take on the guild's thugs, but they weren't able to produce the results so far and he began to believe that this issue was over their heads anyway. Heerimus said the senator instructed him to find someone to take care of the matter instead of the CSF, and he asked the operatives to help. Since they were heading to the Guild's territory anyway, the operatives reluctantly agreed to search for the stolen chips, and Heerimus, thanking them for the assistance, directed them to speak with Security Captain Denal-Zon who was in charge the investigation.
The operatives found Captain Denal-zon near the entrance to the Guild compound. He told them that the chips had been designed to operate remote control slave collars and the shipment came from the planet Ryloth. Under Republic Law 44-12, Rylothian slave collars and the chips used to make them were illegal in Republic space. The Guild stole the shipment because it was a very expensive commodity and they intended to sell it, it was stored somewhere in their headquarters. Although Denal-Zon admitted that he did not know why the senator needed these chips, he asked the operatives to bring the chips to him instead of the senator so that he could destroy them. The operatives agreed and went to the territory controlled by the Guild.
They got to the merchandise warehousing and, fighting off the Guild guards and the security droids, began to search for the stolen crates. Soon the operatives found all the crates and took the slave collar chips.
The operatives returned the chips to Captain Denal-Zon, who thanked them and promised that the senator would find no fault with the way it was done.
